Final Projects

TYPOGRAPHY III
Book Cover

This is the cover of my book in which I had to talk about 21 aspects of my life. Most students did the first 21 years of their life, but I went another way with it. I decided to tell short stories about the 21 most colorful, influential people in my life.  I cut out a black and photo of myself based upon the time in my life of when I met a certain person. I then placed that upon a collage of pictures of the person I'm talking about. I used the type to express my own uncertainty and how these people added their own personal splash of color to my life. INFOGRAPHICS

Poster

I decided to do my semester long project on choosing a career and surviving in a digital age. It discussed the changes industries are undergoing in the face of downloading. Here is the the 24"X 36" poster that was required to submit. I discussed how everybody from musicians to artists to students and retail employees are coping with the changes. As an Infographics course, the priority of the art was to convey a message. Aesthetics took a backseat to making the information clear to the viewer.

Infographics and my proposal

This semester has started off with a very intriguing assignment: Pick one subject to study for the entire semester, and through graphs and charts, use statistical information to solve whatever issue may be at hand. I have a few ideas I'm throwing around.
  1. Apple's steady gain on the consumer market against other PC based companies.
  2. Social networking sites and the steady increase in lack of privacy people are willing to give away.
  3. Clear Channel and it's fight to stay alive with the advent of the iPod, iPhone, XM radio, and internet.
The last option is the one that I think I'm going to commit to. Since I work at there and have seen the way the company is evolving, it intrigues me to see just how exactly they plan on thriving in a world in which radio is becoming nearly obsolete.

I have a few theories, but I've barely begun to scratch the surface yet.
I suppose time will tell...

And so it begins...

After knowing next to nothing about web design, I've sat down and learned as much as I possibly could in order to expand upon what little knowledge I had. It's been a crazy long winter break and I had a lot of choices as to which project I wanted to pursue. After considering numerous options, I felt this is a project that would be worthwhile.
I plan on using this site to inform everybody about new projects I'm working on and also as a means of updating my portfolio as quickly as it evolves. As with many students in art school, keeping track of our entire body of work can be an extremely daunting task. Therefore this site will be a means of helping keep my art in one place.
I also feel like possible clients can get a really good idea of what it is I'm trying to do with my art as well as what I'm capable of doing. My artwork doesn't necessarily reflect a single style although many say much of it often goes well with music related things.
I'm in the final stretch of getting my degree for Graphic Design, and will resume schooling in 2 days. Despite the fact that I go to school, I can always find time for a worthwhile project that you may have for me. If you have one in mind, please don't hesitate to get ahold of me by going to the contact page. Thanks!
